My Nutritional Therapy Tool Box: The NAQ (Nutritional Assessment Questionnaire)

You don’t know what you don’t know.

Am I right?

This is why over the course of the next few blog posts I’m going to be sharing an exclusive behind the scenes peek into my practice and the tools I have in my nutritional therapy practitioner tool box that help me get amazing results for my clients.

These are tools your doctor doesn’t have access to coming out of medical school.

They require additional certifications and continuing education on top of a medical degree to use in practice.

And they are so so valuable.

I wouldn't be able to help my clients the way I do without the tools in my nutritional therapy toolbox at my fingertips.

First up on our list is the NAQ or Nutritional Assessment Questionnaire.

I include this assessment for every client I work with.

We actually use it 3 times over the course of our 6 months together.

We use the NAQ to start our work.

To get clear on what body systems are suffering from potential conditions and nutritional deficiencies and where to focus our work (aside from digestion of course).

We use it to check our progress.

At the 3 month mark we use it for a second time so see where we are in our journey and to make sure we are on target.

Lastly we use it when completing our work to measure the before and after changes in each body system.

When we work on balancing digestion we have to remember that we are human beings and not just a sum of our parts.

The NAQ looks at other systems like:

Blood sugar regulation

Minerals

Fatty Acids

Hormones

Cardiovascular health

Urinary system

Detox

Nutritional needs

AND MORE

Every system within us is intertwined and connected to the others, the NAQ knows this.

Digestion impacts virtually every other system in our body.

Our blood sugar regulation and our ability to have balanced hormones depend on a healthy gut and must be considered when working to balance the microbiome.

The NAQ is AMAZING and really it can speak for itself.

As such, I’ve included a sample of the reports the NAQ generates below so you can have a first hand look at how informative this test is.

Below you’ll find a sample Symptom Burden Comparison Graph.

Assessments like the NAQ are an incredible tool in the nutritional therapy practitioner’s tool box, but they are only as good as what you do with the information.

Having this information alone will not heal you.

But it will guide the work that we do in my 6 month gut restoration process that will.

This is why I include them in every healing protocol I create for my clients and I don’t offer this assessment as a one off service.

I use it to add value to my 6 month gut restoration program and go beyond balancing the gut.

I use the NAQ to look at the whole picture and balance the microbiome while taking into consideration my client’s other health and nutritional factors.
